First Impressions of SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada at Tokyo Game Show 2023

Japanese media outlets have shared first gameplay impressions of the demo SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada, playable at Tokyo Game Show 2023, including new gameplay images and screenshots. The previews are available at the following links: Dengeki Online, Famitsu, Gamer.ne.jp, GAME Watch and PlayStation Blog Japan.

The game, developed by Bandai Namco, is set in the year 2222, years after a mysterious poisonous rain called “The Tears of the New Moon” that decimated humanity and gave rise to deformed creatures that now hunt the population. In the midst of this calamity, the humans build an underground shelter called Amasia, where they discover and begin collaborating with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.

In SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada, players will step into the shoes of Drifters, people who make a living collecting AO crystals, a rare resource available on Earth. In this quest, they must face xenomorphic creatures known as Enders, while enlisting the help of Magus, their artificial intelligence companions, to guide them on their journey, assist them in fights, and provide directions, clues, and warnings. All this while developing and strengthening the bond between the player and the AI.

Gameplay and combat in SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada focuses on Cradle Coffins, armed vehicles that players can control and fully customize, from their appearance to weapon loadouts, to fit their own play style. Players can also join other Drifters online to help them on their missions or hinder their progress by fighting to loot their precious resources.

SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A release date has yet to be announced, but initial impressions suggest an exciting game that fans of the genre won’t want to miss.
