SNK delays Samurai Shodown netcode rollback update

SNK has announced that it will delay the long-awaited rollback netcode update for Samurai Shodown. The previously planned September 2023 release date has been postponed indefinitely. To make up for this delay, SNK will be holding a second community beta test on PC via Steam in October.

In a statement, SNK said: “To ensure that the Samurai Shodown netcode rollback update meets the highest quality standards, we have decided to postpone its release from the previously scheduled date of September 2023. We deeply regret this additional delay, as “We know that many of you have been waiting for these new features.”

In line with the release date change and its continued dedication to quality assurance, SNK plans to conduct another Community Beta Test on Steam in October of this year. More information about the test will be provided once it is available. The new release window for the rollback netcode update will be announced soon, pending the results of the aforementioned test.

The fans of Samurai Shodown have been eagerly awaiting this update that will improve the game’s online experience. SNK appreciates the community’s patience and continued support, and is committed to making Samurai Shodown a smoother and more enjoyable online experience.

Importantly, the game is currently available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, the Switch version will not receive the rollback netcode update.
