Phasmophobia on consoles delayed indefinitely due to development challenges

Kinetic Games has announced a delay in the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of the cooperative psychological horror game Phasmophobia. Originally scheduled for October, the new release date has not yet been announced.

In an update, Kinetic Games explained the reasons behind the delay: “As we continue to adapt to our new life of remote work after the fire incident and try to establish a new office, we have encountered unforeseen challenges in adapting the game for consoles. . These factors combined have affected our development schedule more than we initially anticipated.”

Additionally, the statement noted that they are preparing for the launch of PlayStation VR2 and have been reviewing the game’s performance and optimizing it on all maps to ensure a smooth experience for all console players. This has involved additional work on the design of the Maple Lodge Campsite map, with a completely revamped new layout.

Phasmophobia, which launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on September 18, 2020, has been a hit in the psychological horror genre and has generated a passionate fan base. Although the wait will be a little longer, console fans can rest assured that the development team is committed to delivering the best possible experience on these systems.
