Shin chan: Shiro of Coal Town coming to Switch in February 2024

Neos has announced that Shin chan: Shiro of Coal Town will be released for Nintendo Switch on February 22, 2024 in Japan. The game will be available in two editions: the standard edition priced at 6,980 yen and the collector’s edition for 9,980 yen. The collector’s edition will include a special badge, a notebook with picture book-style animations, a special 68-page art book, a soundtrack download code, a sound sheet of the theme song, a model of paper coal mine train, a tourist map of Akita and Coal Town, and a character sticker sheet.

The game’s plot follows Hiroshi, who receives a sudden transfer order and travels to his hometown of Akita on business. The Nohara family rents a traditional Japanese-style house in a village near Hiroshi’s parents. He begins his carefree country life in a quiet rural setting. Ginnosuke teaches Shinnosuke to enjoy life in the countryside, from hunting for bugs to fishing, and more. Part of the fun is sitting around the irori at night while enjoying local dishes. In the village, Shinnosuke interacts with the farmers and makes new friends.

However, one day, Shinnosuke’s life takes an unexpected turn when his dog Shiro returns home covered in soot and takes him on a strange adventure on a mysterious train. The train takes him to Coal Town, a town that seems frozen in the Showa era, where he embarks on a new adventure after making new friends.

Shin chan: Shiro of Coal Town promises to take players on an exciting adventure through two different worlds, and fans of the Shin chan series will surely be eager to explore this new installment in February 2024.
