Side-scrolling action game Ninja Issen coming to PC and Switch

The exciting side-scrolling action game, “Ninja Issen“, is set for release on PC via Steam on November 23, followed by its arrival on the Switch platform in 2024 for 1,540 yen, according to the announcement from CFK and Asteroid-J, the publisher and developer respectively. Here’s an overview of the game, according to its Steam page:

Ninja Issen is a retro ninja-themed platformer that offers a variety of hyperactive action, one-on-many battles, and dynamic boss showdowns. Paying homage to ninja games from the classic 8- to 16-bit eras, Ninja Issen brims with ninjas, robots, neon lights, and a dark atmosphere that overwhelms the streets of the future metropolis.

In the game, you take on the role of Kiba, a renegade ninja falsely accused of murdering his clan’s grandmaster. In his desperate struggle to escape from other ninjas seeking to avenge his crime, Kiba suddenly finds himself in a world he has never seen. In Ninja Issen, you will always face one-versus-many battles in which you must use everything to survive.

Fortunately, Kiba is an experienced and skilled ninja capable of overcoming the dangers ahead. He uses Kiba’s weapons and abilities to take down approaching enemies and explores the future metropolis. Combine Kiba’s weapons and skills to create your own ninja fighting style. Each stage will have a boss with unique patterns and tricks. As Kiba, you must discover how to withstand his menacing attacks and achieve victory in the end. Sometimes the battle progresses to Phase 2 when the boss’s health drops below a certain point. In Phase 2, the boss will display new, fiercer attack patterns. Destroying parts can also change the boss pattern.
