PLAYISM and Origame Digital announce Umurangi Generation VR and non-VR versions for PlayStation and Quest

Lovers of photography and virtual reality immersion are in luck, as PLAYISM and Origame Digital have announced the launch of Umurangi Generation VR for PlayStation VR2 and Quest, along with non-virtual versions for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. All versions will be available starting April 18, 2024.

Umurangi Generation, the acclaimed post-apocalyptic photography simulator, made its debut on PC via Steam on May 19, 2020, followed by Umurangi Generation Special Edition for Switch on June 5, 2021, and Xbox One on May 17, 2022. Now , the experience comes to virtual reality and PlayStation consoles.

Umurangi Generation VR offers a virtual version of the creative photography simulator set in Tauranga Aotearoa. Players take on the role of an avid photographer who works as a courier for the Tauranga Express. His mission is to document the world, its grim state and its inhabitants through the lens of the camera. The VR version allows for more natural interaction with the environment, immersing players in the impending calamity in a more impactful way than ever.

Each level features a series of objectives called “Photo Bounties.” Capture all the required photos and use a wide range of tools to edit and develop your photos. Although each photograph is evaluated based on content, color and composition, Umurangi Generation encourages creative freedom. There are no hard and fast rules about what makes a photograph good or bad. Instead, players are encouraged to explore their creative side and express themselves freely through their photos.

April 18, 2024 marks the arrival of Umurangi Generation on PlayStation virtual and non-virtual reality platforms. Get ready to immerse yourself in this post-apocalyptic world and let your creativity fly through the lens of your camera!
