Untold Tales and Demagog Studio have announced that their next game, The Cubwill be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on January 19, 2024. A demo is now available for PC via Steam for those who wish to try the game before launch.

Platforms and Demo Available: PlayStation and PC players are eager to dive into The Cub, a challenging platformer that takes inspiration from SEGA classics from the ’90s, such as The Jungle Book, Aladdin and Lion King. Additionally, PC users can now enjoy a demo that offers a look at the game’s exciting mechanics.

Xbox Release Postponement: Although versions for Xbox Series and Xbox One were initially announced, Untold Tales has announced that, due to the need to redistribute resources, the launch for Xbox has been postponed until further notice. Xbox fans will have to wait for more details on the release date for their platforms.

The Story of a Persecuted Puppy: The Cub takes place after the Great Ecological Catastrophe, where the ultra-rich flee to Mars and leave the rest of the world to their fate. However, a little boy immune to the hostile planet is left behind. Decades later, those on Mars return to Earth to conduct reconnaissance and, upon discovering the tiny human, known as The Cub, attempt to capture him, unleashing a thrilling story of escape, exploration and discovery in the urban ruins of humanity.

Exploration of a Narrative World: Players will explore the ruins of humanity after the Great Ecological Catastrophe, uncovering clues to how and why civilization fell. From ruined brutalist towers to abandoned genetic laboratories, each level tells a unique story that intertwines with the main plot.

Surround Soundtrack: Accompanying players on their journey will be “Radio Nostalgia From Mars,” a custom soundtrack that will immerse players in captivating stories of survivors of the ultra-rich on Mars. All this, while a smooth radio host keeps the beat with a collection of relaxing apocalyptic melodies.

Unique Visual Style: With a meticulously drawn and stylized style reminiscent of classic animated films of the late ’90s, such as Atlantis, Tarzan and Road to El Dorado, The Cub also takes inspiration from acclaimed Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky and his Primal series. Players can expect a visually captivating experience that evokes memories of the animated classics while offering a modern twist.
