Square Enix Announces Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile Discontinuation of Service on March 29, 2024

Square Enix has reported that the free mobile RPG Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile will close its services on March 29, 2024 at 13:00 JST. As part of this decision, all in-game purchases have been suspended as of today.

Closure motivated by challenges in service delivery

Despite receiving positive feedback about the game’s representation of the original story, the development team shared in a letter that it has also received diverse feedback in areas where it has not been able to provide satisfactory service. Although they have taken initiatives to improve, it has become difficult to maintain the team structure necessary to offer quality service in the future.

Production of the original story as a voice drama

Since the shutdown will occur before the development team can deliver on the previously promised original story, they have made the decision to produce it as a voice drama. This content will be released sequentially across streaming platforms between January and March 2024.

Last chance for the players and thanks from the team

With the closure imminent, players will have the opportunity to experience the conclusion of Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile’s original story through voice dramas scheduled for release. The development team expressed its gratitude for the support and understanding of players over time and regrets that it will not be able to continue providing the game service.

This closure marks the end of an era for Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile, but the promise of the original story through voice dramas offers fans a unique and emotional send-off with this mobile title.
