Konami announces the return of “Felix the Cat” to next-generation consoles

Konami will release Felix the Cat for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on March 28 for $24.99. Pre-sales on the PlayStation Store are now available, and pre-sales on the Nintendo eShop will open at a later date. Pre-sales for the physical edition are available through Limited Run Games until March 10.

Since its debut in 1919, Felix the Cat has endured as a pop culture icon. Across film, television and video games, fans have remained fond of Felix’s playful and imaginative spirit for nearly 105 years. Now, the 8-bit adventures of Felix the Cat return for new audiences to discover and generations of fans to enjoy together.

This release includes both the classic Nintendo Entertainment System title and the Game Boy title that was released a year later. Through the Carbon Engine, and with some help from Felix’s Bag of Magic Tricks, new features have been added to the titles, including save states and other quality of life improvements, bringing them into the modern era of video game.

Key features include:

  • Two games within the franchise are available: Felix the Cat (Nintendo Entertainment System) and Felix the Cat (Game Boy).
  • Save game (progression) at any time.
  • Rewind function.

Fans can expect to relive the nostalgia of these classic Felix the Cat games with some modern improvements when they release next month.
