Developer miHoYo announced that version 4.5 of Genshin Impact, titled “Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade,” was released on March 13. This update brings with it a number of new features and exciting events for players. Here is a summary of the news, according to miHoYo:
After the New Year celebration in Liyue, players will be invited to Mondstadt to help Jean, Lisa and the Knights of Favonius develop the local alchemical potion business. Additionally, players will finally be able to recruit the genius designer Chiori. In addition to these exciting additions, the update also includes several optimizations, such as a new information center called “Training Guide”, which will provide various suggestions for developing characters in Traveler teams.
In the final major seasonal event “Alchemical Ascent,” Travelers can answer the call of the Knights of Favonius and help Lisa run an alchemical potion shop to promote local business. Players must handle every step of the production process, from growing ingredients to brewing potions and selling them to customers. As income increases, players can expand the scale of the business by purchasing more operating facilities and bottles of exquisite potions to increase the business areas and the number of potions that can be sold. Players can also meet familiar faces and make deals with them. In exchange, they can exchange various rewards, including the exclusive 4-star spear “Dialogues of the Desert Sages.”
Additionally, players who want to take a break from adventure can also play with the cats in “Furryssey Feline Fortress” and engage in cannon play in “Rolling Crusade.” Chiori, the genius Inazuma fashion designer and owner of the Chioriya Boutique in Fontaine, will also join as a 5-star Geo sword wielder. Travelers will be able to learn more about her in the next update. In combat, Chiori can summon her automaton doll and her design assistant, “Tamoto”, to deal damage based on her Defense and Attack. If there is a Geo Construct nearby, Chiori will summon an additional “Tamoto.” Upon casting Elemental Blast from her, she will draw her twin swords and execute a clean slash, dealing area Geo damage. During exploration, Chiori can increase party members’ movement speed by 10% if one of the party members is wearing a different outfit or wind glider than the default. She will also reveal more of the challenges and opportunities she faces in her work during Fontaine Fashion Week in her latest Story Mission.
In Version 4.5 Event Wishes, Chiori and Arataki Itto will be in the first half, followed by Neuvillette and Kaedehara Kazuha in the second half. Additionally, a new “Chronic Wish” will be available for the first time in Version 4.5, bringing 5-star characters such as Albedo, Eula, Mona, Klee, Diluc and Jean, as well as more than 10 5-star weapons such as the Wolf Stone and the Path of the Hunter in Desire itself. Players can plot a course toward their desired 5-star character or weapon, and their second 5-star item obtained will be the desired one (if they didn’t obtain it the first time).
To facilitate the adventure and combat experience, especially for players in the early stages of the game, the latest version will bring new system optimizations. In the Paimon Menu, the “Training Guide” provides useful tips and suggestions for upgrading characters in the player’s team based on their level, weapons, artifacts, and talents. For example, if the player checks the weapon recommendations for a particular character, the Training Guide will show how to ascend the equipped weapon, where to obtain ascension materials, and what weapons other players typically equip for that character. Additionally, the character talent interface will now display upgrade materials, so Travelers can know at a glance what materials they need.
Genshin Impact is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via the client and Epic Games Store, iOS via the App Store, and Android via Google Play. A Switch version is also planned.
