Ubisoft believes microtransactions in single-player games makes them “more fun”

French company Ubisoft's official logo

Ubisoft is a firm believer in putting microtransaction into single player games and has been doing this for quite some time now. Now it appears that the company believes that their inclusion in single player games makes players experience more fun with their games. It’s not only profitable for the company to sell things like costumes or XP boosts in the Assassin’s Creed franchise etc, but the firm has stated in a report that that their “monetization offer within premium games makes the player experience more fun by allowing them to personalize their avatars or progress more quickly.” However they do note that these microtransactions are optional.
