Clair Obscur Expedition 33 director played mostly PlayStation growing up and didn’t have much chance to play Nintendo

Japanese gaming news site Denfaminicogamer has published a joint interview between two French men from two established video game companies. They are Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Director, Guillaume Broche, and Ben Fike, CEO and art/creative director of Lizardcube, who were behind the newly released Shinobi Art of Vengeance. Both Broche and Fike says that they didn’t own Nintendo consoles growing up, but they spent a lot of time on PlayStation consoles. Both games which the two men were involved in were acclaimed with Clair Obscur Expedition 33 having a Metascore of 93 and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance at 87. Here’s a roughly translated portion of the interview.

Mr. Guillaume:
After that, I played a lot of PlayStation games and played Japanese RPG titles such as the “Final Fantasy” and “Atelier” series.

In action games, I also play Capcom’s “Devil May Cry” series … “Shinobi” released on PlayStation 2.

However, I myself didn’t have much opportunity to touch Nintendo game consoles and titles.

Mr. Ben:
Like Mr. Guillom, I didn’t have a chance to touch Nintendo’s game console. Also, to be to be the person, I also grew up in the countryside west of Paris… It’s a great coincidence, but it may be similar to Mr. Guillaume in many ways (laughs).
