MAGES announces Memories Off Sousou: Not Always True to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary


MAGES. has announced the next release of Memories Off Sousou: Not always truea new game in the Memories Off series to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the romance visual novel in 2024. The game will be released on unspecified platforms in Japan during the same year.

The team behind this game includes character designer Mutsumi Sasaki, who worked on the original designs for Memories Off and its sequel Memories Off 2nd; scenario writer Naotaka Hayashi, known for being the head writer of the STEINS;GATE series and for writing the scripts for Memories Off: Sorekara and Memories Off 5: Togireta Film; and composer Takeshi Abo, who has worked on the music for the entire Memories Off series.

According to the press release, instead of creating a title that acts as a culmination of the 25th anniversary, these well-known creators of the series will develop a new Memories Off game. The Memories Off series began on September 30, 1999 with the release of the original game on PlayStation in Japan. Since then, it has seen eight main installments and several prequels, sequels, spin-offs, and anime adaptations. The series will celebrate its 25th anniversary on September 30, 2024.
