Quake II Remaster now available for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC


Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer id Software have released a remastered version of Quake II for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Series and Xbox One through the Microsoft Store, Switch through the Nintendo eShop, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The price is $9.99 and includes a new expansion pack, Quake II 64, among other new features. It is also available through Xbox Game Pass.

Developed by id Software in 1997, Quake II is a critically acclaimed first-person shooter that introduces an entirely new sci-fi narrative and setting. Now, experience the authentic, improved and complete version of the original. Enjoy the original and authentic version of Quake II, now with up to 4K* resolution support and widescreen, improved models, improved enemy animations and gore, improved and restored AI behaviors, improved cinematics, dynamic and colorful lighting, anti-aliasing, depth of field, the original Sonic Mayhem hard rock soundtrack and more.

Humanity is at war with the Strogg, a hostile alien race that attacked Earth. In response, humanity launched an attack on the Strogg homeworld… it failed, but you survived. A completely new Quake II experience developed by MachineGames, consisting of 28 campaign levels and a multiplayer death map. Compete in pure retro style combat with support for 16 players online or 4 players in local split screen. Bot support is included in both online and offline Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes.
