Narrative RPG The Thaumaturge will launch on December 5 on PC and will arrive on consoles in 2024

Publisher 11 bit studios and developer Fool’s Theory have announced the release of the narrative RPG The Thaumaturge for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG on December 5. Additionally, it has been revealed that the game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in early 2024. A demo of the game is now available on Steam until October 16, serving as a prologue and introducing players to the beginning of the protagonist’s story. Wiktor Szulski.

The Thaumaturge is a narrative-driven RPG with an isometric view and a unique focus on turn-based combat, character development, and investigation mechanics. It presents players with morally ambiguous decisions in a world filled with mysterious powers and strange ethereal creatures called Salutors.

The story takes place in 1905, in the city of Warsaw, under the yoke of the Russian Empire. Its inhabitants represent a diversity of backgrounds, views and beliefs with often conflicting interests: Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish citizens and more. Despite the circumstances, the city is a vibrant metropolis, where one can attend an impressive party with high society and then be mugged in one of the dark alleys of the Prague district. A city of great hopes and dreams on the one hand, and dark desires on the other.

In this world, a force that cannot be ignored are the Thaumaturges, individuals versed in taming spirit-like beings called Salutors, who are used for the manipulation of other people’s temperaments and affinities and even in combat. The devil is in the details, as only the Thaumaturges are fully aware of the nature of the Salutors and only they can perceive them in their true essence. Their ability to influence others significantly increases their ability to change the world around them, although Thaumaturgy is a power that should be used with caution.
