I’ve been closely tracking Micro SD Express card prices since the Switch 2‘s announcement, and it’s fair to say they haven’t been the most respondent to price changes, and that actual ‘deals’ on them have been quite scant.
For Prime Day though, you can grab our traditional top value pick, the 256GB card, is £45, which is a return from Amazon to the best price we’ve seen on one of these cards so far, where it’s usually been £50 or over.

SanDisk 256GB Micro SD Express Card
|
Micro SD Express is the way forward for Switch 2’s expandable storage against the older, now ubiquitous standard Micro SD cards that worked in the old Switch and a range of other devices given they are much faster cards – these SanDisk ones are rated for up to 880MB/s reads and 650MB/s, which make them faster by four times or so than the best Micro SD cards for Nintendo Switch were.
The 256GB capacity will double your Switch 2’s internal capacity to 512GB, minus the usual system portion, of course. It’s storage you may well need considering the size of some Switch 2 games, especially third-party options such as Cyberpunk 2077 that can take up a quarter of the space on the 256GB internal drive as it is.
If you want to grab a Micro SD Express card for Switch 2 on the cheap, this Prime Day reduction from Amazon makes the 256GB SanDisk card the best value out there.
Likewise, if this Micro SD Express reduction isn’t for you, but you want to keep a hand in on other Prime Day storage deals, then you can check in on our dedicated roundup.
