Amazon is now accepting requests for Nintendo Switch 2 preorders, selectively inviting users to a pre-order invitation from now until June 5th. It’s similar to the invite approach Nintendo is taking, albeit not based on overall play-time.
Amazon has said the invite links will only remain active for 22 hours and that not all requests will be approved. Those selected will receive purchase notifications anytime between now and the Switch 2’s release.

Other retailers have also gone live early with pre-orders, not expected until April 8 in the UK, and stock already selling out fast. Pre-orders are still available at Argos at the time of writing, but if it’s gone by the time you check, you can find Amazon’s invite request link below instead and get ready to order next week.
It’s also worth mentioning that you’ll need to pay upfront with Argos, alongside a £3.99 postage fee. Notably, Amazon typically charges for pre-orders at dispatch, so buyers will pay for the console when it eventually ships in the summer.

Our friends over at Digital Foundry have you covered with the best microSD express cards for Switch 2, but here’s a quick run-down as well.
We’ve found a handful of microSD Express cards from SanDisk and Lexar so far, with capacities available from 128GB up to 1TB. Larger microSDs will be supported, but the 1.5TB and 2TB options for mega-bulk storage aren’t available just yet.
For now, 256GB cards are arguably the best value as both 512GB and 1TB models are incredibly expensive, even if the those offer better price per GB.
