Assassin’s Creed Shadows hits lowest price since launch for Amazon Prime Day

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has just dropped to its lowest-ever price on Amazon, with both the PS5 and Xbox versions now available for just £39.99 in the UK and $47.50 in the US. That’s a huge saving from the original £69.99/$69.99 launch price, and the best deal we’ve seen on Ubisoft’s latest open-world epic so far.

That discount is for both PlayStation 5 and the Xbox version, but exclusively for Prime Members, so if you’re not a member, you can still access the deal via a 30-day free trial.

What makes this discount better, is that both versions of the game come with the Amazon-exclusive Limited Edition content, which includes the Sekiryu Character Pack cosmetics.

Set in feudal Japan, Shadows finally delivers on one of the series’ most-requested settings. It’s a massive game, featuring dual protagonists with distinct playstyles — Yasuke brings the heavy-hitting combat, while Naoe leans into stealth and speed, offering a nice blend of classic and modern Assassin’s Creed gameplay.

In our review, Tom gave the game 4 out of 5 stars, praising its scale, ambition, and seasonal open world:

“Tonight I’ll be back in Shadows’ open world, as I have done every night for the past couple of weeks. It’s currently winter in my game, and while the seasons didn’t impact my gameplay much pre-credits, my post-game returns to certain areas are finally allowing me to see its impact versus the last time I was in town.”

“It’s another thing that Shadows’ lengthy run-time is finally bringing into focus – and another example of the need to enjoy things while they’re around. It’ll be time for Sakura blossoms again soon.”
