Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, though no release date was given.
Though rumoured, the news was confirmed at today’s Switch 2 Direct, along with tonnes of other games.
This is the first part only of the Remake trilogy, though will include the Intermission DLC starring Yuffie as with the Intergrade re-release on PC and PS5.
There was no mention of the second part, last year’s Rebirth. “Please look forward to more updates on the Final Fantasy 7 remake project for Switch 2,” said director Naoki Hamaguchi in the presentation.
Though the third part is yet to be officially revealed, it’s unclear if that will be a PlayStation console exclusive at launch.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake arrives on Switch 2 five years after its initial release on PS4. While the original PS1 game is already available on the original Switch, this will be the first time Remake will be on a Nintendo console.
This is all part of Square Enix’s multiplatform strategy after Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s initial PlayStation release underperformed. The power of the Switch 2 should allow for other more recent games to be released on Nintendo’s new console.
