Here’s what Switch 2’s game cards will look like

Nintendo has given us a proper look at a Switch 2 game card.

This look at the upcoming cards comes from a video showing off an official Switch 2 carrying case, which was shared on the Nintendo Today app.

As a reminder, this is the app Nintendo announced back in March, that delivers daily content to its users about Nintendo’s events and games. It is where Nintendo first let us all know the release date for its Legend of Zelda film adaptation.

But, I digress. Back to those Switch 2 game cards. Thanks to Nintendo’s new video (which you can check out via the embed below), we can see that the Switch 2 cards are, unsurprisingly, very similar in size to the OG Switch’s cards.

As we have seen previously, the newer game cards come with a red colour scheme, making the Switch 2 game (in this case, Mario Kart World) stand out rather boldly against the carry case’s black lining. Also, in case you missed it, Nintendo previously confirmed Switch 2 game cards will taste horrible, so don’t be tempted to pop one in your mouth.

As for that case, it will be able to house the Switch 2 console itself with two Joy-Con attached, as well as six game cards. There is also a little netted pouch users can slide their Joy-Con 2 straps into for safe keeping. I quite like the colourful zipper pull rings.

The Switch 2 is set for a worldwide release in the coming weeks, on 5th June.

Earlier today, it was revealed Nintendo has partnered with Samsung to increase production of its Switch 2 chips.
