It’s the year 2025 and Gibson’s just released two new Guitar Hero controllers

Gibson has partnered with CRKD to create two “exclusive” Guitar Hero / Rock Band controllers, which will also work with Fortnite‘s much more recent musical mode.

The LP Black Tribal Encore Edition and the LP Blueberry Burst Pro Edition peripherals both feature the “legendary Gibson Les Paul shape, reimagined” as a game controller.

You can check them out in the very glossy trailer below:

“Whether you’re rocking out in Fortnite Festival, reliving classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, or shredding in community favourites like YARG or Clone Hero, we’ve redefined a legend with modern innovations built for today’s rhythm gamers,” the company said.

“This release continues the revival of rhythm gaming like never before – bringing the band back together for a whole new era!”

Whilst both feature “advanced features”, they do differ a little in terms of fret buttons and strum bar design, with the Pro Edition featuring mechanical fret buttons and a Hall Effect Strum Bar with Haptic feedback.

The Encore Edition, on the other hand, includes a mechanical strum bar but standard fret buttons.

Both editions also include an ergonomic d-pad on the back, “lightning-fast response times”, and RGB and tilt sensors (if you use the CRKD app).

If you’re interested, the Pro Edition will set you back £130 for the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC version – £120 if you get the one that can be used on any system – and the Encore Edition is £120 or £110, respectively.

Each order will get a complimentary Purple/Orange Ombre shoulder strap and an “exclusive” collector’s pin. Right now, they’re expected to ship in late June.

Interestingly, these aren’t even the first controllers for Guitar Hero/Rock Band to have been released in 2025! Pre-orders for a brand new Guitar Hero controller for the Wii went live at the beginning of January.
