Nintendo says no download codes needed for first-party physical Switch 2 Edition games

There has been a lot of confusion in regards to certain aspects of the Nintendo Switch 2. One of them involves just what physical versions of Switch 2 Edition games will contain. Nintendo UK’s customer support said last week that it will come with a physical cartridge for the original game and a digital download code for the Switch 2 Edition upgrades.

However, there is now some contradicting information. A Nintendo representative has sent a statement to Vooks saying that Nintendo and Nintendo-published Switch 2 Edition games will not have any download codes. Everything will be included in a cartridge. That said, they do note that this may not be the case for other publishers, including third-party companies.
