Square Enix has successfully remade Final Fantasy VII branching out on the source material and generally doing a good job so far. We are still waiting for the third entry and it seems as though Square Enix still has plenty of ideas regarding Final Fantasy VII and are actively considering downloadable content for the untitled third game. Going further they even suggested that we could see a fourth entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and that “things are really up in the air” surrounding that at present.
“Once we release the third installment, there is the possibility of having a DLC for that [game],”
“With the conclusion of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, there’s probably going to be a much wider audience for Final Fantasy as a whole,” he states. “Whether we bring another new DLC or a full title, that’s something we are actively considering.”
