Where to buy Xbox consoles and controllers before the price hike hits

Price rises on Xbox consoles, controllers, and even some accessories have been confirmed for the UK, Europe, and the US.

Despite Microsoft’s continued fall in Xbox hardware sales, a spokesperson has cited to Eurogamer that “market conditions” and rising development costs have resulted in gamers needing to pay more if they want to play on their consoles.

While Microsoft’s store and those of other retailers have already begun to have their listings reflect their newly announced RRP (Recommended Retail Pricing), others like Amazon haven’t adjusted theirs just yet.

If you’ve been on the fence about buying an Xbox console, extra controller, or new headset, if you’re in the UK or the US, we’ve listed what you can still buy right now before the higher pricing kicks in.

Game price increases to $80 are on the way as well, but that’s only in the case of new first-party titles like the next Call of Duty, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day.

Across both Amazon US and UK, some listings have already started to change, marked as out of stock, or pulled altogether. Xbox Series X consoles are also now #5 on the Amazon best seller list in the US.

Comparing the old pricing and new, the best deal you can get by more is the 512GB Xbox Series S on Amazon in the US — which is currently available for $106 less than its new higher cost.

The 1TB Xbox Series X is still available at Amazon UK with a £20 saving, while the US store only has the console available in refurbished units. However, Walmart has new consoles available at $97.01 less than the new .

Xbox Series S 512GB – New RRP: £299.99/$379.99

Xbox Series X – New RRP: £499.99/$599.99

Xbox Series X Digital – New RRP: £449.99/$549.99

A good number of the base Xbox Wireless controllers at Amazon UK are available at a lower price, but only renewed units are in stock at Amazon US.

The must-grab deal in the States, however, is the limited edition DOOM: The Dark Ages controller — which is still available at $15.99 less than the new RRP.

Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition – New RRP: $89.99

Xbox Wireless Controller (Core) – New RRP: £59.99/$64.99

Xbox Wireless Controller (Colour) – New RRP: £64.99/$69.99

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) – New RRP: £124.99/$149.99

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full) – New RRP: $199.99

Headsets

Price increases on Xbox headsets are only currently happening in the US, but there are still a couple of good savings you can make to dodge the new prices. Best Buy still has the wired Stereo headset available for $5 less than the RRP, but Amazon has refurbished units available for nearly half the price.

Walmart still has a great deal on the Wireless headset at the time of writing, while Amazon and Best Buy can save you $10 from Xbox’s new higher price tag.
