In a message posted on its official LinkedIn page, the studio stated: “Last June, (our parent company) Embracer Group announced a restructuring program to strengthen Embracer and maintain its position as a leader in the video game industry. As part of that program, they evaluated strategic and operational objectives and made the difficult decision to close Volition immediately.”
The Volition team has proudly created world-class entertainment for fans around the world for 30 years. We have always been driven by passion for our community and have worked to bring joy, surprise and satisfaction. However, the closure of Volition is part of a broader strategy by Embracer Group to consolidate its position in the video game industry.
