Trip World DX is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC in September

SUNSOFT has announced that the side-scrolling platform game Trip World DX will be released in September for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. This news will excite fans of classic games, as Trip World DX is the first title in a new series of reissues powered by Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine, bringing classic content to modern platforms.

The Carbon Engine revolutionizes retro game emulation

The Carbon Engine enables supreme precision in retro game emulation and a stunning modern presentation to create an entirely new experience for timeless classics. One of SUNSOFT’s best original titles, Trip World marks the climax of the company’s legendary 8-bit era.

In the classic Trip World, you embark on an adventure across the world of Trip World, a land filled with beloved creatures and mythical beings, as the rabbit-like hero, Yakopoo. A spectacle on its original handheld hardware, Trip World features some of the best graphics and music ever seen in a video game on this format. The quality of its presentation is perfectly combined with the impeccable gameplay mechanics and atmospheric level design that encourage the player to enjoy Trip World’s many landscapes rather than rushing to complete it.

Additional content for retro lovers

Trip World DX includes a variety of features that offer never-before-seen content and context about what makes this game an incredible freeing of your time. This includes a music player with remastered audio and arrangements, original design documents, guest appearance designs, and video interviews.

But the most exciting news is that Trip World DX is not just a name; also points out the most exciting aspect of this incredible reissue. Together with original director Yuichi Ueda, the Motor Carbon team sought to realize a long-held dream by developing an all-new color version of Trip World. This is not a pretend game or a magic trick! It is a completely new version of the game designed specifically for the Color console, with full compatibility on the original hardware. What was once only in the planning stages in the 1990s has now become a reality thanks to the combined efforts of SUNSOFT, Limited Run Games and Motor Carbon.

Classic game lovers have a lot to look forward to with Trip World DX in September.
