Chucklefish and the developer have announced Eastward: Octopia, a downloadable expansion for Eastward that follows protagonists Sam and John as they begin a quiet new life as farmers in a remote mountain village. It will be released this holiday season for Switch and PC. The Xbox One version of Eastward was not mentioned in the announcement, but Gematsu has followed up for comment.
Expansion details
Eastward: Octopia takes place in a world parallel to Eastward, without the dangers of miasma. In this farm simulation expansion, players will join Sam and John to repair and revitalize an old neglected farm. They will grow crops, tend livestock and unleash their culinary creativity using farm-fresh produce to prepare delicious meals, which will then be saved in John’s Big Book of Recipes.
In addition to farming, players will be able to visit fishing spots, engage in conversations with ghosts, and impress Eastward’s colorful characters with John’s new recipes. As the farm grows, so does the nearby town. Players will be able to transform an abandoned amusement park into a thriving community, building houses and shops, and welcoming familiar NPCs as new neighbors.
Eastward Availability
Eastward is now available for Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
