ANIPLEX.EXE and BA-KU have revealed that the visual novel “Hira Hira Hihiru,” set in the fictional Taisho era, will be released for PC via Steam on November 17. This visual novel presents a unique setting in the Taisho era, introducing players to a world where the dead return to life, but not as they were in life.
Game Description: “Hira Hira Hihiru” transports players to a fictional Taisho era where the characters are perfectly normal human beings, but the world they are about to explore is plagued by the strange phenomenology of the dead coming back to life. These individuals, known as “hihiru” in Japan, return with diminished cognition, memory, and consciousness. Devoid of regenerative abilities, their bodies slowly decompose. Although they were once revered as sacred beings, they have been marginalized and despised by society.
At the dawn of the Taisho era, Dr. Shūhei Katori conducts field studies to improve living conditions and support systems for patients with Aerodema, as the affliction is now known. Although Japan has made slower progress compared to other nations on this issue, Dr. Katori strives to overcome the challenges ahead.
The story unfolds through the eyes of two men: Masamitsu Chigusa, a young doctor who helps in these studies, and Takeo Tenma, a student for whom Aerodema was a distant problem until now. He discovers how these men cope with Aerodema’s presence, which becomes intertwined in their lives in unexpected ways.
