Resident Evil 4 VR Mode: VR mode launching with PlayStation VR2 support on December 8

Capcom will launch “VR Mode” with support for PlayStation VR2 of the remake of Resident Evil 4 on December 8, as free downloadable content for PlayStation 5, the company announced. Additionally, a free demo will be available on the same day.

Resident Evil 4’s VR mode will support the entire main story campaign, offering an additional level of immersion into Leon S. Kennedy’s harrowing rescue mission. This experience will allow players to see the terrifying world directly through Leon’s eyes and immerse themselves in their surroundings with the PlayStation VR2’s 4K HDR display.

Resident Evil 4’s VR Mode further enhances the atmosphere with 3D audio, allowing players to hear the threats lurking around every corner. In addition to immersing players in this hostile environment, Resident Evil 4’s VR Mode increases realism with PlayStation VR2 Sense™ technology.

Intuitive controls offer new ways to interact with the world. Weapons can be wielded with natural movements, including unique gestures to reload specific weapons, such as pistols, shotguns, and rifles. This also extends to improving the game’s knife action for those close encounters. Additionally, Resident Evil 4 VR Mode features a Shooting Range mode that serves as a training ground for players to hone their combat skills by testing the aiming, shooting, and reloading mechanisms of each weapon.

Don’t miss the opportunity to try Resident Evil 4’s VR Mode with the free demo that will be available on the PlayStation Store on launch day. The demo offers a 360-degree view of the game’s start and new features, including the Shooting Range, where players can experiment with weapons and get familiar with realistic controls.
