Mighty Koi Announces Sci-Fi/Fantasy Soulslike RPG The Night Wanderer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC

Warsaw-based developer Mighty Koi has announced sci-fi/fantasy RPG Soulslike The Night Wanderer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. A release date for the game has not yet been announced.

According to the description on its official website, The Night Wanderer is a combination of RPG and Soulslike genres, characterized by unique solutions and an innovative approach to proven mechanics. The game uses the level design familiar from Metroidvania games and a combat system native to Soulsborne productions, emphasizing dynamic yet tactical gameplay. At the same time, a significant aspect of the entire experience is a clearly outlined and engaging plot; The game features a quest layout familiar to avid fans of classic RPGs.

Based on the award-winning novel by Jaroslaw Grzedowicz, the player takes on the role of Vuko Drakkainen, an elite soldier and mercenary who undertakes a solitary mission to the unexplored alien planet. As Vuko, the player must remove his space suit and put on armor. The planet Midgaard, inhabited by beings remarkably reminiscent of the people of our Early Middle Ages, is the setting where the action of the game occurs. The planet is surrounded by a radiation field that distorts and damages all forms of advanced technology, significantly influencing the world that Vuko travels and interacts with.

During his journey, Vuko is accompanied by Cyphral, a biological AI connected to the hero’s nervous system, whose task is to support him in his dangerous mission and greatly increase his strength, reflexes and stamina. Cyphral’s presence will help the player face the unknown as they explore otherworldly lands inhabited by tribes and beasts and discover what is really happening on this strange alien world.
