Deceit II, the multiplayer social deduction horror game, is now free to play on PC and coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on April 3

Developer World Makers announced that Deceit II, the multiplayer social deduction horror game, is now free to play on PC via Steam and will soon arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on April 3. Deceit II was first released for PC on September 14, 2023, priced at $9.99. Although versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were also announced, it is unclear if they are still planned. However, World Makers confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are still underway.

James Thompson, CEO of World Makers, said in a press release: “It was not an easy decision to move to a free model, but we believe it is the right decision to lower the barrier to entry and ensure more people can enjoy Deceit II”. For players who have already purchased the game before the free re-release, the Werewolf DLC, three Crypt Keys, in-game currency, and a Season One Season Pass will be provided for free as a token of appreciation for your early and continuous.

About Deceit II:

Deceit II is a social deduction horror game in which two players have been infected. While the infected do the will of the malevolent Game Master, the innocent must work together to escape the Ritual and deduce who is plotting against them. To complicate matters, you can now also play as a third team, the Damned, who are solely searching for themselves. Your choices shape the game, making each match a unique battle of wits.

The “Werewolf” DLC includes the Terror of Wyrtorn, a werewolf, and the first Terror added since the game’s initial release. It will also include the role of The Chemist, a neutral Curse that must poison all other party members to win the Ritual. A new map, Project Wurgen, will also be available, set in a corrupt facility that witnessed many inhumane experiments on animals that led to the creation of the Wyrtorn.

Additionally, the new free-to-play era of Deceit II features Seasons, events that will bring many new unlockables to reward playtime. Preseason is now live in the game, and Season One, titled “Humble Beginnings,” begins on April 3 and adds skins, loading screens, and more. The first batch of rewards arrive at the start of the event, with the rest arriving shortly after. You should also keep an eye out for an Easter themed event, coming soon! New seasons are scheduled every two months and will always offer new reasons to return to horror.

With its transition to a free-to-play model and exciting arrival on next-gen consoles, Deceit II promises to continue delivering a thrilling, surprise-filled social deduction horror experience for gamers everywhere.
