Until Then: Narrative adventure set in the Philippines coming to PlayStation 5 and PC on May 23

The narrative adventure game set in the Philippines, “Until Then“, will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on May 23, publisher Modus Games and developer Polychroma announced. Currently, there is a demo available for PC.

In a world still recovering from a catastrophe, Mark Borja and his friends navigate the joys and sorrows of another year of high school. He wakes up in a typical teenage bedroom, practicing piano, racing to meet homework deadlines, and building (and burning) relationships, all while reminded of the daily insecurities of school life. However, everything changes when a fateful encounter sets off a chain reaction that turns Mark’s life upside down. People disappear and memories become unreliable. He uncovers a hidden truth with Mark and his friends in this narrative adventure and races to unravel the mystery before it’s too late.

Featured Features:

  • Play your own adventure – Meet a diverse and achingly familiar cast of characters to chat with in person, via text, and via email. Get to know them, build relationships, fail group projects, and watch their personal stories unfold alongside yours.
  • Investigate the environment through everyday technology – Explore the depths of social media where your likes and comments can have consequences. Scroll through social posts, emails, web pages and more on your in-game smartphone, where you might discover clues about the people and world around you.
  • Explore themes of love, loss and friendship – Face philosophical problems like the main character. He makes mistakes and makes difficult decisions. Will Mark stand up for his friends and be there when they need him or will he let them down? Can he heal his wounds by leaving the past behind? Decide for yourself how Mark grows and strives to do better throughout the story.
  • Immerse yourself in addictively mundane mini-games – Includes a flash drive (wait, wrong; no, it was fine the first time). Fight with your friend for more fishballs at the food stall outside. Immerse yourself in small games that you find yourself playing in everyday life.
  • Immerse yourself in a cinematic visual experience – Witness an intriguing narrative uniquely presented in eye-catching hand-drawn pixel graphics and immersed in the warm colors and music of a world trying to overcome tragedy. Characters, landscapes and objects are mixed in 3D. Shadows, reflections and lighting set the tone for a carefully crafted experience.
  • Experience a world inspired by Filipino places and culture – Travel through landscapes inspired by the Philippines in search of the truth. From the heart of the bustling capital to long bus rides past grassy fields and coastal towns, explore the world of “Until Then” set in a fictional version of the Philippines. The interior spaces are shaped by the manners of the locals, setting the scene for the recent past.
