Physics-Based Grappling Hook Metroidvania Game Rusted Moss Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch

PLAYISM and developers faxdoc, happysquared and sunnydaze announced that the grappling hook physics-based Metroidvania game, Rusted Moss, will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch on June 20. In Japan, PLAYISM will release a physical edition for PlayStation 5 and Switch. Pre-sales are now available for 4,400 yen at retailers such as Amazon and Biccamera. Rusted Moss was first released for PC via Steam on April 12. As previously announced, the console versions will be released alongside a major update.

About the game:

Rusted Moss is a Metroidvania that uses your grappling hook and weapons with a full 360-degree aiming system. The freedom created by these controls provides a fluid experience so users feel in complete control of their character. Find creative solutions to flexible traversion challenges and eliminate witches and machinery with precise aiming.

Now with the Hook:

The grappling hook is difficult to learn but rewarding to master. This unique physics-based spring hook uses your kinetic momentum to propel your character forward. Similar to rock climbing, there is no established path through this desolate and gloomy abandoned wasteland. Cling to any mossy structures and make your way through this rugged terrain.

Guns, Guns, Guns!

No more pointed in only eight directions. As a twin-stick shooter, Rusted Moss emphasizes tight and precise gunplay. Quickly switch between your arsenal of weapons to best suit your playstyle and situation. Get in close with a shotgun before hanging on and pulling out a sniper rifle for the finishing blow!

Boss Fights:

Test your grappling and grappling skills to the limit! From powerful witches to mechanical monstrosities, each boss fight presents you with its own unique challenge. Dodge swords, avoid energy fields, and eliminate conjured spiders.

History:

Journey through desolate landscapes drenched in melancholy; witnesses the remains of humanity and its rusty iron inventions… Humanity is on the brink of collapse and will soon be invaded by fairies. In a desperate attempt to survive, humans have empowered their own witches with stolen fae magic. But all is not lost, as the humans were deceived, because one of their own is not what he seems. The fairies have stolen a human baby and replaced it with something else… Unsuspectingly raised by human parents, Fern is a shapeshifter whose true loyalties have emerged. Along with a mysterious shadow named Puck, she embarks on a journey to return fairies to the world and end the Age of Men. Which side will you be on: human or fairy?
