LEGO team worked with one of Nintendo’s hardware designers to build Game Boy

The LEGO Game Boy looks incredible and as we have previously reported one illustrious individual has already modded it to be used as an actual working Game Boy. In a recent interview it was disclosed how closely the LEGO team worked with Nintendo to build its wonderful creation. LEGO designer, Simon Kent, says he worked with one of Nintendo’s hardware designers to help bring the project to life. The LEGO Game Boy is available now via the LEGO website.

“Nintendo was very involved. We have a team that works in Japan… they basically allow us to connect to different IP teams or hardware teams or even creative teams within Nintendo to get the right information to make the product as best as it can be. We also met with the hardware designer that I think may have worked on the original or certainly was connected to the original [Game Boy].”
