Square Enix restructures its development to improve the quality of its games

According to Bloomberg, square enix is in the midst of a drastic review of its development structure with the aim of improving the quality of its titles. Takashi Kiryu, representative director and president of Square Enix, shared this information during the company’s financial results call for analysts on February 5.

Kiryu explained a plan to reduce outsourced development and focus on large-scale in-house game development in order to improve game quality and profit margins. “We are conducting a zero-based review to determine what type of organizational structure is necessary to realize the content of our pipeline, and what the most appropriate approach is,” Kiryu said.

Specific details about the new structure will not be provided until spring at the earliest, he added. Several securities analysts who attended the call said the new structure is scheduled to go into effect in April. This would reportedly include a new system of controls to judge the quality of games at earlier stages of development.

This initiative reflects Square Enix’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in game creation. Fans are looking forward to seeing how this restructuring will influence future releases and the gaming experience offered by the company.
