Publisher Chucklefish and developer Pixpil have announced that the “Octopia” downloadable expansion for EastwardEdit will be released on January 31, 2024, available for Switch and PC via Steam. Chucklefish told Gematsu that it had no news to share regarding the availability of DLC for the Xbox One version of Eastward. Here’s an overview of the downloadable content, according to Chucklefish:
Description of the content: Set in a parallel world to Eastward without the dangers of miasma, Eastward: Octopia will allow players to enjoy the good life alongside Sam and John, repairing and revitalizing an old, neglected farm in this expansive farm simulation DLC. Players will grow crops, care for livestock, and unleash their culinary creativity using farm-fresh produce to prepare delicious meals, which will then be stored in John’s Big Cookbook.
There are fishing holes to visit, ghosts to chat with, and a colorful cast of Eastward characters to impress with John’s new recipes. As the farm grows, so does the nearby town, allowing players to transform an abandoned amusement park into a thriving community, building homes and shops, and welcoming familiar non-player characters as new neighbors.
Once purchased, Eastward: Octopia is accessible from the Eastward start menu, so players can begin their farming adventure immediately, regardless of their progress in the base game. Eastward is currently available for Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
