Arc System Works and French-Bread have excited fighting game fans with the announcement of Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, the long-awaited sequel to the popular fighting game. The title will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC (Steam), and will launch in early 2024 with netcode rollback and support for multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian , German and Spanish. Attendees at EVO 2023, which takes place August 4-6 in Las Vegas, will have the opportunity to try out the game at the Arc System Works booth.

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes has been developed in collaboration with French-Bread and presents the final chapter of the “Hollow Night” story, which began with the launch of the original series more than a decade ago. The game combines elements of a light novel with the action of a fighting game, offering an original experience in the genre, with a climatic narrative of survival in the “Hollow Night” and duels against powerful enemies, all accompanied by fantastic visual environments. The new installment will feature 21 returning characters and new In-Births joining to strengthen an already powerful cast, as well as a captivating soundtrack.

In Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, players will take control of Hyde, a young student and protagonist of the story, who encounters the mysterious Linne, suddenly awakening his internal EXS powers. Together, they will fight against the fearsome and self-proclaimed strongest user, Paradox. However, an enigmatic being called Kuon the Aeon appears and defeats the two victors, announcing the end of the world. This leads to Linne’s disappearance, and Hyde embarks on a dangerous mission to save his world from Kuon.

The sequel offers a unique combat system, supported by high-quality visuals and detailed facial expressions. Players will experience the splendor of combat through an expanded move list, new character abilities, and an improved combat system, in addition to the implementation of Rollback Netcode. Even beginners will be able to perform graceful moves with ease by pressing the EXS button, resulting in a feeling of speed unmatched in other traditional 2D fighting games. Additionally, enhanced network features, along with Rollback Netcode, will allow players to test their skills against online opponents from around the world in smooth and exciting combat.

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes promises to take the fighting game genre to new heights with its captivating story, expansive cast of characters, and enhanced combat system. The gaming community is eagerly awaiting the launch, which is scheduled for early 2024, with the expectation of enjoying exciting battles and an outstanding gaming experience on multiple platforms.
