Publisher PQube and developer Dual Effect have announced the sequel to the survival horror game, “Tormented Souls II“, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). The launch date is scheduled for 2024.
In “Tormented Souls II,” the award-winning survival horror series returns with a chilling experience. Players will once again encounter Caroline Walker, who will delve into terrifying monasteries and other nightmarish locations. Armed only with improvised weapons, Caroline must face terrifying creatures in her desperate mission to rescue her cursed sister.
The story continues after the events of the incident at Wildberger Hospital. Caroline longs for a normal life after these terrible events, but fate has other plans. Her sister Anna falls victim to a mysterious affliction. Conventional remedies prove useless as Anna falls into a state of unconsciousness, only waking up to cough up dark clumps of blood. With no other options, Caroline turns to the supernatural and an ancient forbidden ritual.
The plot takes players to Puerto Miller, a remote community in South America with a dark past. Founded centuries ago by the hermetic Ismuit tribe, a minor religious order that rejected all contact with the outside world, this community hides an ancient and unspeakable horror beneath its crumbling appearance.
Players will guide Caroline through the dark corridors of an infamous monastery and into nightmarish places that seem to come from another world. To advance, they must use logic and reasoning to connect objects in the environment and solve a wide variety of intricately designed puzzles. Examining and combining items in the inventory will reveal clues and unravel the dark mysteries surrounding Caroline’s path.
The game features claustrophobic and frenetic combat, where players will face monstrous creatures using an arsenal of improvised weapons. In a world where every shadow could hide unspeakable horror, it will be essential to choose battles wisely and carefully manage scarce resources to survive.
