The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition announced for PlayStation 5

Publisher Rogue Games and developer Plot Twist have revealed the existence of The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition, a 2D action platform and adventure game. This edition of the game will be available for PlayStation 5, although a specific release date has not yet been announced.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox was initially released for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on April 27. It is also available through Xbox Game Pass. The PlayStation 5 version will feature a number of significant improvements compared to previous versions.

These improvements include a redesign of the combat and platform systems, visual improvements, user interface, enemy artificial intelligence and puzzles. New gameplay features and more have also been added.

Although it was unclear if these gameplay updates would be available on existing Xbox and PC versions, Rogue Games has confirmed that the updates will be available for existing versions.

Matt CasamassinaCEO of Rogue Games, commented: “These are substantial and significant gameplay and visual improvements that take what was already an absolutely beautiful and highly engaging Metroidvania to new heights on PlayStation 5.”

The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition promises to take players on an experience wrapped in a gothic setting in Gothic-era Boston as they explore the mysterious and terrifying landscapes of Limbo. Players will take on the role of Benedict as they unravel a dark family mystery and deal with a demon that possesses his soul.

The PlayStation 5 version will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, promising an immersive and enhanced experience for players. The game combines exciting combat and challenging puzzle design in a narrative interspersed with memories of the dead.

The PlayStation 5 version is considered the definitive edition of the game, and Rogue Games hopes that improvements to combat, platforming, and other aspects of gameplay will make the experience even more engaging for players.
