Wizordum, a retro-inspired wizardry FPS, coming to Steam Early Access in November

Publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Emberheart Games have announced that the retro-inspired first-person wizardry game, Wizordum, will be available in Early Access for PC via Steam starting November 15, priced at $14.99. Additionally, a demo has been released and is available now.

Paying homage to ’90s fantasy first-person shooters like Hexen and Heretic, Wizordum promises to combine the best of the past and present. Emberheart Games developer Primoz Vovk commented: “When I was younger, I was captivated by fantasy first-person shooter titles like Hexen and Heretic. Wizordum is the perfect blend of past and present, with old-school maze-style puzzles combined with modern conveniences for a smooth gaming experience. We have a lot more to show in a few weeks, stay tuned!”

The game immerses you in the story of the Ancient Seal of Terrabruma that has broken, releasing the forces of Chaos. As one of the last mages of the Wizordum sanctuary, your mission will be to find the source of corruption and defeat the creatures of Chaos before they consume the kingdom. This speedrunning-friendly game takes inspiration from 90s fantasy first-person shooter classics like Hexen and Heretic.

The Wizards of Wizordum are on the brink of extinction and fight against the chaos that stalks the sanctuary. Equip an arsenal of steel and magic and set out for the City of Grimbrook in search of the source of corruption while defeating all who stand in your way. Explore the corners in search of loot and relics to solve enigmatic puzzles and cause even more damage. Fight fel ogres and goblins with a skullcrusher mallet, unleash blasts of ice with the Frostweaver, and master the Spellstriker to unleash concentrated magic on your enemies.

Confront restless undead and monstrous rats as you make your way through cobweb-covered hallways, restless graveyards, sewers, mazes, and courtyards dotted with traps and treasure. The game also offers an in-game level editor, allowing you to design and download custom adventures or full episodes.

Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy Wizordum’s original soundtrack inspired by ’90s and ’00s classics like Ultima and Elder Scrolls, with a retro option for Roland MT-32 mode, along with key hand-painted artwork by legendary illustrator Denis Loubet. (Ultima, Wing Commander).

Get ready to immerse yourself in this adventure full of spells and mystery starting November 15 in Early Access on Steam. Explore a world of retro fantasy and challenges in Wizordum!
