DELTARUNE Chapter 3 is “almost complete in content” and “close to completion”

In the latest news from UNDERTALE / DELTARUNE, tobyfox revealed that the Chapter 3 of DELTARUNE It is very close to completion in terms of content. This is exciting news for fans of the franchise, who have been eagerly awaiting the next installment of this series.

DELTARUNE Chapter 1 was first released for PC and Mac on October 31, 2018, followed by its arrival on PlayStation 4 and Switch on February 28, 2019. Chapter 2 followed on September 17, 2021 for PC, and the September 23, 2021 for PlayStation 4 and Switch. Both chapters can be played for free, but Chapters 3, 4 and 5 will be released as paid content.

Initially, the original plan was to release DELTARUNE for purchase once Chapter 5 was complete. However, tobyfox announced a change of plans in this regard, stating that it now plans to sell the game once Chapter 4 is finished. “My original plan was to release Chapters 3, 4 and 5 together,” said tobyfox. “However, the goal of Chapter 5 is still quite far away… and I don’t think anyone really wants to wait that long to release something. Especially me”.

The developer continued, explaining that Chapter 4 already has a substantial amount of cutscenes and enemy work completed. In addition, he has hired a new producer whose main job will be to accelerate the game’s development in future chapters. “So I feel very optimistic about the next steps of this project,” he added.

Lastly, tobyfox noted that detailed development updates will be less frequent in the future. “I think I’m going to pause the more detailed development updates for now. Instead, I will let you know if development is nearing completion or if something fun happens.”

DELTARUNE fans can rest assured that the series continues to move forward and they can look forward to the next chapter in this exciting adventure.
