Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog announce “The Last of Us Part II Remastered” for PlayStation 5


Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog have revealed the release of “The Last of Us Part II Remastered” for PlayStation 5, scheduled for January 19, 2024. This remastered version will offer technological improvements, new modes, and additional content for new and veteran players.

Those who already own “The Last of Us Part II” on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to “The Last of Us Part II Remastered” for $10, with the option to transfer their save data. The game will be available in standard and WLF editions The latter, exclusive to PlayStation Direct in select markets (United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Austria), will include a SteelBook case, four enamel pins, a Washington Liberation Front patch and 47 cards Society of Champions trading card, including eight holographic cards.

Pre-sales for all editions will open on December 5. The remastered version will allow players to dive even deeper into the development and mechanics of the game, with a new mode called “No Return.” This survival roguelike mode offers random encounters and fresh combat in every run. Players will be able to choose from several playable characters, some debuting for the first time in the franchise, each with their own characteristics to suit different play styles.

Players will make crucial decisions in each run, facing stealth and combat encounters against a variety of enemies with unique twists to each encounter. Each race will offer the opportunity to decide rewards after each encounter, character customization, and more. As you progress, you’ll unlock characters, skins, and other items to customize your races and compete in a global ranking as part of a Daily Race.
