CD Projekt RED will release Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on December 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC in select markets. This edition will include both Cyberpunk 2077 and the “Phantom Liberty” expansion, along with all updates released to date. Clarification at 9:40 am: Marcin Momot, global community director at CD Projekt RED, specified that “Phantom Liberty” will only be included on the disc of the Xbox Series version. It will be provided as a download code for the PlayStation 5 and PC versions.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is an open-world RPG that offers two powerful adventures: the base game of Cyberpunk 2077, set in the dark future of Night City, and the expansion “Phantom Liberty,” an espionage story set in the gated district of Dogtown. Players take on the role of V, a cybernetic mercenary, and embark on a fight for survival filled with story-defining decisions, action-packed gameplay, and unforgettable characters, including rockerboy Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) and the FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed (played by Idris Elba).
This new edition is the perfect way to experience each story from the dark future; also contains the free update 2.0, which revamped many of the game’s systems, introducing dynamic skill trees, high-octane vehicular combat, and an improvement to enemy and cop AI, as well as adding new weapons, vehicles, and clothing. The launch is bolstered by a suite of previously launched digital rewards available as part of the “My Rewards” program, available to all who sign up.
Cyberpunk 2077 was originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, and Stadia on December 10, 2020, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on February 15, 2022. The “Phantom Liberty” expansion was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on September 26, 2023.
