Preferred Networks, the Tokyo-based technology developer, has announced the open beta availability of its open-world survival and creation game, Omega Crafter, on PC via Steam. Players will have the opportunity to test the game until the December 17.
Developed as a standalone title by a small team at Preferred Networks (PFN), a tech startup known for its work in artificial intelligence and supercomputers, Omega Crafter is scheduled for release in fiscal 2023.
The main feature of Omega Crafter is the cute programmable companions called “Grammi” that can automate tasks in the game, without the need for programming knowledge. Steam users who participated in the alpha test in May only had access to one biome in single-player mode. The beta will include two biomes and will support both single-player and multiplayer modes, with an improved user interface and customizable characters. A variety of locations and dungeons have been added, as well as more exciting and challenging battles than in the alpha edition.
Beta testers will enjoy a wide variety of decorations, build tall structures and large cities using multiplayer modes and command shortcuts. Omega Crafter allows players to enjoy automating in-game tasks without the need for programming knowledge, thanks to a friendly block-based visual programming system. Grammi will automatically perform scheduled tasks such as searching for materials, crafting items, and building structures efficiently.
The beta edition will also include support for the four basic arithmetic operations and string variables. The game is designed so that any player, regardless of programming experience, can experience the fun of automating tasks in the game. Omega Crafter is in development for PC (Steam), and a release date has not yet been announced.
