Ultracore comes to Xbox Series and Xbox One on December 7, an authentic tribute to classic 16-bit action games

ININ Games and DICE have announced the launch of Ultracore for Xbox Series and Xbox One via the Microsoft Store on December 7. This authentic 16-bit action game is a true love letter to classic 2D action games, with intricate level design, tons of secrets to discover, and numerous mid and final bosses.

Originally developed in the ’90s by legendary game studio Digital Illusions under the title Hardcore, the game was sadly canceled at the last minute. After 25 long years, the original game data was just recovered from an old hard drive and passionately ported to run on modern hardware. The result is a true effort to preserve our common video game heritage.

Not only is it an exquisite orgy of pixel art for the mind and soul, but it is also an action-packed experience that takes classic 16-bit action games to the next level… and beyond! This is Ultracore.

The PlayStation 5 version is also planned, but has no announced release date yet. This tribute to classic games promises to offer Xbox players an unforgettable experience full of nostalgia and exciting challenges.
