Gearbox Publishing and Magic Design Studios launch Have a Nice Death on consoles

Gearbox Publishing and Magic Design Studios have announced the release of the side-scrolling roguelite action game, Have a Nice Death, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, priced at $24.99. The game, which initially launched in early access for PC via Steam on March 8, 2022, followed by a full release on Switch and PC on March 22, 2023, is now available for console players.

A Look at Have a Nice Death:

Have a Nice Death features a unique plot where players take on the role of Death, who, due to the rebellion of his employees, must restore the balance of souls and recover their vacation plans. Armed with his scythe, players will explore the dark and charming procedurally generated apartments of Death Inc., encountering memorable characters, such as the affable pumpkin-headed wizard, Pump Quinn.

Dynamic and Challenging Combat:

The game offers fast and frenetic hack n’ slash combat, with over 30 unique weapons and spells to discover and upgrade. Players must hone their skills to take on a variety of bosses and minions in each department of Death Incorporated.

Roguelite Progression and Challenges:

Since Death cannot die, players will learn from each attempt, unlocking interesting items and upgrades after each run. A performance review guarantees unlocks that will aid in progression, but choosing personal upgrades can affect the balance in the Death Incorporated company, adding a strategic touch to the game.

From PC to Consoles: Thanks to the Fans:

Simon Dutertre, Lead Game Designer at Magic Design Studios, expressed his excitement for the console release: “Like our fans, we are excited to see Have a Nice Death released on PlayStation and Xbox today.” He thanked the community for its support and expressed his hope that console players will enjoy their time in Death Incorporated.

Have a Nice Death is available now on the aforementioned platforms, and players can embark on the quirky and challenging roguelite experience that the game offers.
