Freedom Planet 2 on consoles: XSEED Games announces delay until spring 2024


XSEED Games and developer GalaxyTrail have announced the delay of high-speed versions of the platformer Freedom Planet 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. Initially scheduled for release in 2023, console versions are now expected in spring 2024. Freedom Planet 2 debuted on PC and Linux via Steam on September 13, 2022.

Full Message from XSEED Games on the Delay: Together with our partners at GalaxyTrail, we have made the decision to move the release window for Freedom Planet 2 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S to Spring 2024. It’s important to all of us That players will have the same high-quality experience that the PC version currently offers, as well as exciting new features that have not yet been revealed. To that end, we’re taking a little extra time to make sure we can deliver the best possible version of this fast-paced platforming adventure. Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm so far! We know you’re eager to return to Avalice, and we can’t wait to share more information in the new year.

This delay will give developers the time necessary to refine and optimize the Freedom Planet 2 experience on consoles, ensuring that players enjoy all the features and quality expected from this exciting platformer.
