Game Description
AMEDAMA is a brand new game that features an exciting combination of action, adventure and soul-swapping in a side-scrolling environment. Developed by ACQUIRE and published by IzanagiGames, the game features character design by lack (Fate/Grand Order, Touken Ranbu) and music composed by Yuko Komiyama (Monster Hunter series). AMEDAMA’s historical Japanese setting comes to life with a stunning pixel art style.
The story follows Yushin and his sister Yui, who run an umbrella shop in their town. On a rainy night, a group of men break into the store, killing Yushin before Yui’s eyes. With nothing but his soul remaining, Yushin must fight tooth and nail, possessing any body in his quest to find his sister and uncover the truth behind her disappearance. With only seven days left before her soul fades away, will he be able to save her in time?
Historical Setting and Unique Gameplay
Players will be transported to feudal Japan in the final years of the Edo period, experiencing a narrative of rain and reincarnation, depicted with stunning 2D visuals. The plot takes place in Aihama, Japan, during the last years of the Edo period, and the quiet life of the city is interrupted by a violent incident that will change the fate of Yushin and Yui. The story promises to be intricate and mysterious, weaving a deep and rooted plot.
With the ability to switch from body to body, Yushin will do everything in his power to rescue his sister, possessing anyone and anything in his path. However, with only seven days before his soul fades away, the race against time adds an exciting element to Yushin’s quest for truth and revenge.
With the release delayed until early 2024, action-adventure game fans will have to wait a little longer to immerse themselves in AMEDAMA’s intriguing story and experience the unique soul-swapping mechanic it offers.
