Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog release “Features” trailer and details for The Last of Us Part II Remastered


Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Naughty Dog have released a new “Features” trailer and new information for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, introducing new game modes and more. For returning players who have been waiting to dive into the remastered version, $10 upgrade will be available when Part II Remastered is released.

If you digitally or physically own The Last of Us Part II on the PlayStation 4 console, head to the PlayStation Store as soon as Part II Remastered is available to purchase the upgrade. If you own The Last of Us Part II in physical format, you must insert the disc copies into your PlayStation 5 via a disc drive to download and play the digital version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered. You’ll be able to import existing saves from the original PlayStation 4 game and pick up where you left off. Trophy progress will also be migrated to The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

Speaking of trophies, Part II Remastered’s exciting new single-player survival mode, called “No Return,” comes with its own set of new trophies which should encourage you to explore everything the mode has to offer. With a cast of 10 characters, including some never before playable in the world of The Last of Us, exciting gameplay modifications and much more, we are excited for all of you to dive into this new addition to the world of The Last of Us. No Return also integrates several accessibility features from Part II Remastered, and along with the ability to create custom races that allow you to take on challenges your way, we look forward to hearing about your experience with No Return. Before you start your first run in No Return, be sure to check out our guide to The Last of Us Part II Remastered’s new roguelike survival mode. We can’t wait to see how your daily scores compare to others in the leaderboards!

In addition to No Return, Part II Remastered includes several new features, such as Guitar Free Play, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in our guitar-playing mini-game while playing as Joel, Ellie, and The Last of Us composer Gustavo Santaolalla. Play guitar, banjo and steel resonator, use pedal effects to modulate your performance, and put your musical experience to the test with a much-loved feature that we’re excited to highlight in its own way. Part II Remastered introduces new additions to our suite of accessibility features, like “Speech to Vibrations” and “Cinematic Descriptions,” which we already included in The Last of Us Part I. We’re excited to bring these features to the Part II Remastered experience. , as well as introducing the “Speedrun Mode”, which we also introduced in the first part. We’ve also made some additions, such as dynamic lighting, Frame Forward, Gaze Direction, and new frame and logo options for Photo Mode. We are pleased to share that Photo Mode will be usable in No Return, ensuring that you can capture all the unexpected and exciting moments of your races.

Inside the Development of The Last of Us Part II Remastered

We’ve included features that we hope will give you a deeper appreciation of the game and its development. This includes hours of new developer commentary accompanying cinematics from Neil Druckmann, Halley Gross, Laura Bailey, Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson and Shannon Woodward. There are also three Lost Levels that show early development segments of levels that did not make it into the final game: Boar Hunt, Jackson Party, and Sewers. These sequences include comments from the developers explaining the intent and plans for these sections. To offer a behind-the-scenes look at the production of The Last of Us Part II, we’re excited to share that “Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II” will be added to The Last of Us Part II Remastered in a post-release update. release (release date TBA) and will be available to view online (release date TBA). This documentary, a sequel to the original for The Last of Us, will offer an in-depth look at the original development of Part II. The Last of Us Part II Remastered is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on January 19.
