PlayStation Productions announces Until Dawn movie

PlayStation Productions joins Screen Gems and Shazam! director David F. Sandberg in developing a film based on the PlayStation 4 horror game, Until Dawn, as announced by the companies. The film is produced by Gary Dauberman through Coin Operated Productions, Sandberg and Lotta Losten through Mangata, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions.

Dauberman is also making adjustments to the original script written by Blair Butler, who previously wrote the 2022 horror film The Invitation. Screen Gems describes the film adaptation as an R-rated love letter to the horror genre, with an ensemble cast.

About Until Dawn:

Until Dawn, first released for PlayStation 4 on August 25, 2015, is a game that puts the fate of eight friends trapped in a remote mountain retreat, where they are not alone, in your hands. Plunged into fear and with tensions rising, they must fight their fears if they hope to make it through the night unharmed. Play as each of the eight characters and experience fear like never before. Every decision you make in your terrifying search for answers could mean the difference between life and death, but for whom? Your actions alone will decide who survives until dawn.

The film adaptation promises to capture the essence of the game, offering fans an intense and terrifying experience. With an ensemble cast and a script that mixes horror with crucial decisions, Until Dawn prepares to bring its terrifying narrative to life on the big screen.
